A hockey arena, a shopping centre and an office building have been chosen as mass vaccination centres by the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal health authority.

As the province prepares to begin vaccinating the general public against COVID-19, starting with seniors age 80 and up in late February, mass vaccination centres are being set up to deliver the inoculations.

Facebook suspends ads for weapon accessories until at least January 22nd

Facebook has updated its Inauguration Day preparations to include a temporary ban on ads that promote weapon accessories and protective equipment at least through January 22nd “out of an abundance of caution,” the company said in a new blog post Saturday. “We already prohibit ads for weapons, ammunition and weapon enhancements like silencers. But we will now also prohibit ads for accessories such as gun safes, vests and gun holsters in the US,” the statement reads.

Gift baskets to be donated to Regina seniors left empty-handed over holidays – Regina

A local business has stepped up and is hoping to make things right for seniors at a Regina care home who were left empty-handed over the holidays, after being promised gift baskets they never received.

Last October, Jackie Harrower said she was contacted by Justin Newberry, the owner of JT Candy Creations.

She said he told her that her care home was chosen to receive 85 gift baskets for seniors, all donated through his sponsor, a senior program.

Finally, even if none of the other provisions allows you to avoid gift tax, you have a lifetime exemption amount that will generally cover you. In 2021, that amount is $11.7 million.
