Fashion show highlights African-American culture, celebrates Juneteenth

Jun. 19—HENDERSON — Rebuild Communities NC and The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation held a Juneteenth African Fashion Show on Wednesday evening in celebration of African-American freedom and culture.

The show featured traditional African attire from Rebuild Communities NC’s boutique. Traditional African dances, chants, and poems were all performed as well.

Frances Stein, a Fashion Force at Several Companies, Dies at 83

Frances Stein, who was a fashion editor, a fashion muse and a designer for Halston and Calvin Klein before helping to revive the house of Chanel, died on June 6 at her apartment in Paris. She was 83.
